Kemp Williams received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from Indiana University in 1989. Before moving to the private sector in 2000, he was Associate Professor of English and Linguistics at Florida International University in Miami. He has since held positions dealing with various aspects of computational linguistics at Answer Logic, Lockheed Martin, Language Analysis Systems, IBM, and Rosoka Software. He currently works as a computational linguist at i2 Group in Herndon, Virginia, where he focuses on named entity extraction from unstructured text.
